I set up a list the other day and inadvertantly said:
 
*  Subscription= By_owner
*  Validate= All,Confirm
 
It appeared that when the owner forwarded the sub request back to LISTSERV,
LISTSERV then sent out the normal confirmation instructions.
 
Was I just groggy from the weekend spams/forgeries or did I stumble on
a powerful and useful combo ??                             - mike
