The most common tradition is for list names to end in -L, e.g.,
LSTOWN-L However, that is not universal; my own list, for example, lacks
that ending: AUTOCAT, presumably because the name had seven letters and
the size limit was eight.
The WWW template for new lists at my university appends -LIST to all
proposed new names (the size limit no longer applies).
