These are coming from WordPerfectOffice 4.0 Mail. We use it for internal
email, but have NOT YET decided to use it as an MTA to the Internet for
a number of reasons, including this one. Basically, WPOMail offers you
acknowledgements for 'mail received' 'mail read' and 'mail discarded'.
The sys administrator apparently has the smtp gateway with all of these
set 'on'. Nothing the individual reader can do about it I don't think,
except yell at the sysadmin. So, the gateway gets informed that Susi
read the message about xyz and smtp dutifully passes it back to the list.
And, the subject is not something that LISTSERV traps, unless you filter it.

Unfortuantely, many of the WPO managers are not too techie or internet
savvy. o-(

I've unsubbed a number of people from my lists. I don't mess with nomail.
