|E-mail to a list, doubly so. Even if your boss is not subscribed
|today, he may subscribe tomorrow and see people's replies (including
|quotes of your original letter). Or he may subscribe next year and
|look through the archives. Or he may do a web search on a term that
|shows up in your post and stumble on the archives that way.

It is not impossible that some other subscriber could send your boss your
posting.  When you  e-mail using your company or institution's network and
mail facilities, you should consider those potential consequences too.

Also if your workstation is on your company's or institution's property, it
could be physically audited.  Thus any archives/notebooks that you maintain
might be retrieved by others.
