The following is the 'canned' response I send out to those who claim
the confirmation code/procedure is broken .....
( sometimes I get a 'thank you', usually I just see their subscription
  take effect ...  ;-)   )

     A quick glance at the headers indicates that you may have missed
one ( NOT minor ) detail in the instructions:
 
   When you receive the confirmation request, the instructions say:
 
  1) REPLY to the item with the message 'ok'
        ( it appears you did this correctly )
 
    If this fails, which it did ( mailers/gateways/? adding confusing or
        invalid info ), then
 
  2) SEND ( it appears you did a REPLY ) the message 'ok + code' in the
      same way you sent the original subscription request.  'ok + code'
      will NOT work if sent via a REPLY
 
 
If your 'confirm' window has expired, please start again with a sub
request - if you want me to monitor, feel free to 'inc' or /cc
[log in to unmask] to all your sends/reply
 
  sequence  1) SEND sub request
            2) REPLY to confirm request
            3) SEND confirm code ( if necessary )
