This will be my last comment on the situation. I'm going to shut up and
get on with grading History of the English Language papers as soon as I
send this one last note. Most people who have been in the e-world very
long have at least seen, if not been the victim of, instances of the
inappropriate forwarding of private mail to a list. That is annoying.
It becomes more than annoying and closer to something like a capital
offense when it is forwarded in such a way that it gives the impression
you posted it on the list. *That* is what has made me so mad this time.
Now I'll forget it and get on with the things I'm supposed to be spending
my time on. Thank you, Eric, for what I found a sane and reasonable
response to the situation.
