I am in the process of moving (migrating) my list -- SHAKSPER -- from
the University of Toronto to my home institution, Bowie State Universtiy.
 
We've set-up the LISTSERV software and have it running.
 
We've FTPed the files from UofT to Bowie State.
 
However, we are having problems migrating the list.
 
We need to know a few things:
 
        1) When we FTped the files we used the binary mode and the files
           are inaccessible using a text editor -- We are moving from VM
           to UNIX so there may not be a problem.
 
        2) We cannot seem to create the LIST file.  We edited an ASCII
           version and tried PUTting it -- no luck.  We then edited it
           put it the same directory as the LISTSERV.LOG; turned off
           and restarted -- as in the "VM lists can be migrated to unix
           with a much simple procedure."  Again, no luck.
 
Any help would be appreciated.
