I just posted this to newbooks@rpiecs, but thought it might also be of
interest here. It is not an overly legalistic book and does
not spend a lot of time on hypothetical situations, but emphasizes
day-to-day problems and solutions.

The second edition of <Syslaw> is a major rewrite of the
first. Although directed to traditional electronic bulletin
board systems, there is a lot that will be of interest to anyone
using computer communications. This is "the most comprehensive
legal reference ever written for BBS sysops and callers."

     Table of Contents:
          1. Your rights as a sysop
          2. The caller contract and other agreements
          3. Who owns the information on your BBS?
          4. Injurious materials and activities on your BBS
          5. Privacy
          6. Crime and the BBS
          7. Searches and seizures
          8. Viruses and other dangerous code
          9. Sexually explicit materials
          Appendixes and bibliography.

<Syslaw>, 2e, 1992, xxiii, 306 pp. includes 126 pp. of
     appendixes, paper.
