I asked this question several weeks ago. Got one or two answers but
none helped. So I'll try again.

I have a CATCHALL FILELIST where I store WELCOME files for lists
that don't have their own filelists. The fileid file follows:

     3
     *DEFAULT* X5/300
     GOODLIST WELCOME 00000001 CATCHALL H5/300
     BADLIST WELCOME 00000002 CATCHALL H5/300

When people join GOODLIST they get the welcome message. When they join
BADLIST they don't.

Only difference between the two lists is that GOODLIST has notebooks and
digests on the 300 disk while BADLIST does note have notebooks or digests
anywhere.

What's the solution? Should I avoid LISTSERV's made up file names and
force them to be GOODLIST WELCOME and BADLIST WELCOME rather than 00000001
etc.? Or must I at least have digests on 300 for BADLIST?
