I've never tried it but, the INFO LISTOWNR states:
- The list name must be present, and it ought to be the first non-blank
line of the header. It must not contain any "=" character. In the
case that the list name contains characters which are considered as
"special characters" in RFC822 terms, the list name must be placed
within double quotes, eg "The IBM 3278, 3279 and 3180 list".
The list name should not be so long as to cause the "Sender:" line to
exceed 80 columns; otherwise it will not appear on the "Sender:"
field.
RFC822 "special characters" are: ()<>@,;:\.[]"
(I've seen at least one e-mail userid that ends in a plus sign.
(Different strokes for different folks/userids? ;-) ) )
