Possible reasons for rejection from a SEND=PRIVATE list:

1. Your host address changed in some way: your sysadmins
changed addressing structures from a highly qualified
host name e.g., d.c.b.a to a less qualified one e.g.,
    c.b.a

2. You used the list's bitnet address instead of its
Internet address (or vice versa) and your sending host,
possibly being on both bitnet and Internet, has never been
registered by your Network ADministrator in the BITEARN
NODES db by using the UPDATE@BITNIC procedure to add an
:INTERNET. tag for all equivalent FQDNs

3. You could actually be sending from a different host as
far as the list is concerned (perhaps a badly configured
   VAX/VMS cluster?)

4. You subscribed via a TELL or $SEND, and your userid was
truncated to 8 characters (assuming that you have a longer
userid) and then you mail to the list which uses your longer
   userid.

5. Your subscription was inadvertantly deleted because of
   list-owner, list-mgr, or NAD screw-up

Alternatives to subscribing and then setting to NOMAIL is
of course setting to INDEX or DIGEST.
