Are any of you ListPROC owners?  I need some help answering the following
question and have been running into dead end after dead end.  Please e-mail
me if you can help me (or help me find the appropriate place to post this.)

Members of our library staff have had problems sending commands
(like SET NOMAIL) to non-KU listservs/listprocs because their subscription
address had been changed in the process of sending the subscription
request to the listserv.  (For example, [log in to unmask] will often be
changed to [log in to unmask] or
[log in to unmask] depending on how the subscription
request was routed as it was sent to the listserv)  Since there is no guarantee
that any communication with the listserv or listproc will go through the same
route, commands sent to the listserv are often bounced with the message
"You are not a member of this list."
 
If the staff member finds out which address was used when they subscribed,
they can specify that address when sending messages to the listserv
(SET NOMAIL [log in to unmask]).  This is usually accepted.
 
However, listPROC's don't seem to allow the id/address to be specified with
the command, preferring to take only the id/address in the FROM: field of the
message.  I've also tried specifying the subscription address in the REPLY-TO:
field, hoping that the listproc will take it from there.  No luck.  I've also
tried specifying my password for the list in the command, but UNSUBSCRIBE
and the command to temporarily hold mail from the list do not allow passwords
to be used with them.  There is a SET ADDRESS command, but many listproc
lists don't allow it to be used.
We've also worked with more than one listproc list owner to see if there
is a way we can get listproc to accept commands when the address is specified
in the message text that is sent to the listproc, but have had no luck with
that either.  The list owner usually ends up manually issuing the commands for
our hapless staff member.  We like to be self-sufficient and it BOTHERS us to
have to whine to a listowner to do our setting nomail/unsubscribing for us.
 
So, after this long explanation, my question is this:  Is there any way that a
subscriber to a Listproc list can communicate with that list, even though
the address on the e-mail communication differs from the subscription address?
