Hope to get a couple of opinions about a situation I'm in.
 
Gating a newsgroup from UseNet to a list, and have encountered
problems with advertising on the list.
 
What are the official - if any - guidelines, regulations, suggestions
or even just feelings about this?  (From both the listowners and the
usenet side of the coin.)
 
I'm referring to businesses, as opposed to individuals with something
to sell.
 
I'm also looking to find the original charter for the newsgroup. I've
looked in ftp.uu.net and couldn't find it there.
