During the past two days, I have received notices of failed subscription
requests from THEMAIL.COM for a list called ACMET-L. As of this time, no
one with a THEMAIL.COM address has managed to subscribe to that list, but
they keep trying. All the subscription requests contain the same syntax
error, but are from different email addresses at THEMAIL.COM. I have not
notified the owner of this list of this situation because I do not want to
alarm him if my concerns are unwarranted.

This subscription activity got my attention because all the email
addresses that are generating these requests have exceeded their mail
quota so I am getting the resulting error messages. This looks to me like
a possible failed attempt at spamming. It happened again this morning. I
notified [log in to unmask] about this situation late yesterday morning,
but I only received an automated response. Have anyone else seen this type
of activity lately?
