Deos the subscriber option NORENEWAL affect passive probing (I don't know).

Maybe the distribution that has the passive probe is not bouncing for
reasons unrelated e.g., a random timing issue due to a subscriber whose
mail exchangerS are misconfigured and thus depending upon a host of
factors only sometimes get referenced (and bounce)?

Seems to me that turning off auto-delete would help resolve.
