I don't doubt this, but it still seems pretty strange to me that
someone would _deliberately_ unsub from a list like this and then
claim they got bad advice . . .

Seems to me you could simply send round a printed "do not unsub"
notice that everyone was legally required to have seen.

In any case, I _really_ hate to think of students being put in this
kind of position.  As someone said the other day, it really does
violate basic principles of lists.  Sort of like propping Alex's eyes
open, in _Clockwork Orange_ . . .
