Your ideas sound good, Geert, and other things along the same lines have
been suggested before, though not to the same extent.  As I recall, Eric's
response is usually something along the lines of the data you are talking
about relate to different portions of the program, not all of which really
talk to each other all that much.  Could do it, but there will significant
increase in cpu overhead, increase in response time, etc. and how many
people really want this?  I'm not coming down on either side, just saying
what I recall from similar proposals over the past few years.  Oh, and
there's to have these stats they have to be stored somewhere.  Maybe have
it as something which the host-site could configure, like for Notebooks=?
An option if they want to use the resources, but not required?
