I known, something had to be done for a smooth transition from the
coordinate options (until 1.8a) MAIL DIGEST INDEX / NOMAIL, to the 1.8b
almost subordinate choices MAIL/NOMAIL (DIGEST/INDEX/NODIGEST/NOINDEX),
aiming to a "natural" behaviour for users.
 
Release notes are quite clear, perhaps it is just necessary to add that
(NO)DIGEST (or (NO)INDEX) and NOMAIL must be used in that order
(together or in subsequent SET commands), to avoid a "false" net result
MAIL. If the intended result is "NOMAIL, but DIGEST distribution when
the user will revert to MAIL" this is obtained with
  SET DIGEST NOMAIL
whereas SET NOMAIL DIGEST just brings the user to the state (MAIL)
DIGEST.
 
(Not necessary to warn users, it's quite improbable they think of using
such a circumvolute "double negation" logic).
