Just ask  your postmaster  to SERVE  the account OFF,  and he  can't send
requests  to LISTSERV  any  more.  Usually this  is  not malicious,  just
someone dying to  subscribe to the list but who  doesn't know his account
doesn't work or that some gateway on the way is screwed up.
