You can type //EOJ on the next line after OK...but why do you have to
delete the text? Just do a reply without quoting.

This has been fixed, see the web or ftp site for the 14 August revision.
There are some extensive additions to chapter 2 regarding list security,
take a look at http://www.lsoft.com/manuals/owner/listserv.html to see
if the changes warrant downloading and printing a new copy. I think
I will be storing a Revision 2 in another few weeks, so it may not be
cost effective in terms of printing another 100 pages if you already
have a copy of the original release.
