Probes are also disabled by default on Unix machines, since sendmail can't
handle them without some tweaking.

Regardless, they still should upgrade to the official released version.
There were bugs fixed between August and March, including some minor Y2K
fixes. (The latter might be a way to convince them to upgrade sooner
rather than later).
