Webster's Seventh New Collegiate Dictionary:

jihad 2: a crusade for a principle or belief

As this word does appear in an English dictionary, I believe I have a right
to use it. English has been enriched greatly by other Arabic loan-words,
such as almanac and algebra.

My contention was that the beliefs of persons using whatever personal computer
very often amount to near-religious convictions, and that some become
convinced that it is necessary to persuade others, sometimes by coercion, that
they must indeed be wrong, regardless of their right to purchase and use to
computer system of their choice.

The word was used solely in the sense listed above. I apologize if you
were offended; any implication other than the one listed above was not
intended.

And none this has a damn thing to do with LISTSERV. Okay? :-)
