When I first used FindMail's mailing list index at

   http://www.findmail.com/index.html

a few weeks ago, I was quite astonished to read that several of my lists
(FREUD-L, HIV-L, CJD-L and many others) were associated with 'majordomo'
addresses instead of the real LISTSERV addresses. Although I immediately
informed the FindMail people that this is utterly false, the situation has
changed for only one of my various lists. In order to avoid problems for
people who have been misguided by FindMail's mailing list index, we have
now created a 'majordomo' alias which points to our LISTSERV address. I
know that this is a really bad idea and of course we will not propagate
this 'majordomo' address in the net. Maybe not only my own lists are
registered in the wrong way in FindMail's mailing list index...
