Many demo programs do this.  They do it because they want you to pay for the
software, and is effective when they only want you to evaluate it for
awhile.  I don't know much on how smart the program is as far as allowing
the clock to be set back or if the time was logged on the disks or download
files so you may not get away with reinstalling such software.At 12:56 PM
