In reply to Dave Phillips,
Compumed screens and most posts are sent to
me. Most of the participants are very fine people and we do
not gateway to the usenet-- it would be ridiculous. The
public will get their chance to add to the dialogue in
public forums and all of the other media outlets where the
information is changed into public policy. The screening is
more difficult. The techniques we used a year ago are only
partially successful now. We are implementing new measures
now. When the traffic of applicants is not too high everyone
is checked but this is no longer satisfactory to find
diverting addresses and false identities or individuals with
a history of wrong-doing. Nonetheless, lists are better when
they are peaceful and people are well mannered. The quality
of information exchanged is higher. -- Paul.
