At what point in time did the archives start?  Can you related to the date of new subscription e.g.,  

REV listname ALL BY DATE

Or as Bill has just said, either DEL them, or set them NOMAIL.  If you DEL them, you can also "wildcard" them in the 

FILTER= ALSO,address

listname definition.
