I'd not worry too much about the spammers misusing the new listserv web
search engine specifically.  There are a number of others out there already,
although not quite as nice as Eric's of course, to say nothing of the printed
resources.  Plenty of spammers know how to grab one or more of the lists of
lists and search it with xedit, their word processor, grep, or whatever.
Those aren't as elegant, of course, but would serve their purposes too.
