List owners,

 Thanks all for the positive response to my message. I'm pleased to report
that I only received three responses indicating that we had blocked lists;
one was in error, one was because of a problem with the ".bitnet" domain that
will soon be corrected, and one was an actual blocked list that I have
corrected.

 I'm now ready to embark upon an ambitious undertaking: helping to weed your
lists of dead (or merely missing) AOL members, so we can save both your
processor time and mine, and ensure that we don't end up accidentally
blocking anyone.

 I'd like anyone whose list has more than 2,000 AOL members to send me a
REVIEW of their AOL subscribers. In turn, I'll send back a QUIET DELETE
script that will clean you up. Please send the list with the subject
"WEEDING 2K".

 This is an experiment, and I have NO idea how much work it's about to create
for me, so please be patient. If all goes well, I'll start reaching down to
1500, 1000, etc. soon. If I get deluged I'll have to automate this process
somewhat, which will take some time.

 Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
