Listowners should keep in mind, that when editing the file listname LIST,
do not set the Listserv "flags" using the editor.   From a old posting
by Eric Thomas, the flags are for internal use, and should be set using
the Listserv command SET.
 
Care should be taken when editing the list, in that should you decide
to duplicate an entry for one user to make a new entry for another user,
you are also copying the flags set for the first user.
 
 
For you list owners, it would be a good idea to learn about the LDBASE command
that is available on Listserv.  Ask the Listserv postmaster to make
available to you.  The LDBASE command is documented in LISTDB MEMO, also
available from Listserv.
 
I used the LDBASE command to search the archives of LSTSRV-L.
 
LDBASE is used as in the following excerpt of a console log.
 
ldbase uga
This is the first time you refer to the UGA server.
