I don't know how others do it, but I added a special E-mail address to
my list that is set to appropriate options (e.g. NOACK,NORENEW).  I then
have a procmail script that converts the messages to an inews-compatible
form and then forwards it to the newsgroup via inews.  I don't go the
other way because to do so would risk the integrity of the list.
