On January the 5th [95] FISH-ECOLOGY will jump into it's second
year. We managed to make it from scratch from a noisy to a
high-quality medium linking already eleven hundred academics from
38 countries. We got three mentions one of which appeared on the
December issue of Fisheries Research [from the American Fisheries
Society, one of the foremost scientific journals in the field].
We set up an e-library and a research software repository. Items
were/are announced and distributed by request. Subscribers, whose
e-citizenship has become *outstanding* will contribute with own
papers, own software and help to keep the house clean: They feel the
network is usefull. The code of conduct we rendered was very
successfull.
I'd like to thank Eric Thomas, the greatest Systems Manager, and all
Senior listowners for sharing their expertise and -in many cases-
their *moral integrity*.
This has started to look good.
Best wishes of a very productive 1995 to all.
Aldo-Pier Solari [Lstownr. FISH-ECOLOGY].
