        Please help me determine why some attachments with 'content-type:
multipart' are posted and why some are rejected. The message below was
munged by me by changing names and addresses to protect the innocent. I'm
not sure if the MIME headers are non-compliant or if LISTSERV is trying to
be lenient. As you can see there is no specification of 'multipart' as
valid but my experience is that a lot of 'multipart/mixed' and
'multipart/alternative' is acceptable on the same list. Does LISTSERV
ignore some 'multipart' on the assumption that it need only operate on a
'real' content type?  Thank you.

1) My headers look like this:
Attachments= image,application/rtf,application/pdf,application/*msword,
Attachments= application/ms-excel
Attachments= text/x-vcard
2) There is no LANGUAGE keyword
3) The release information is as follows:
LISTSERV(R) for Windows version 1.8d, managed by: [log in to unmask]

Master nodes file version:   2001-02-07 14:30:26 (VERS9922)
NJE peers file version: 2001-02-07 21:48:34
Internet peers file version: 2001-06-12 21:42:28
Service file version:        2001-06-12 21:42:10 (VERS9922)
Alias file version:          2001-06-10 18:57:26
Running under:               Windows 2000 Server
