Another $.02 with "not-a-lawyer" disclaimer.  A couple days ago, this thread
   suggested articles in the Washington Post with bylines as an example of
   things that fell into copyright area.  Might a list rather be considered like
   the "Letters to the Editor" section, and the copyright holder actually be the
   publisher?  Then, the permission needed is the publisher's (read --
   listowner.)
