This is not my <listname> WELCOME file but rather a quarterly posting
I send out to the list to remind people of various LISTSERV commands,
what's available in the list archives, and what constitutes a reasonable
posting. The disclaimer in the first Q/A <is> part of all of my <listname>
WELCOME files. I skirt the issue of copyright altogether because I can't
imagine anyone posting to a public list and expecting to retain copyright.
I have a little bit of experience with copyright (U.S.) and in my <opinion>,
unless the list is private all the way around, copyright would almost have
to be a moot point. I do ask subscribers <not> to post copyrighted
information such as journal articles...that is, after all, illegal.

One caveat: I don't know that the disclaimer below has any legal validity.
It <does> make me feel better knowing it's out there. :)

Q. I've found a review or article in a computer magazine
that relates to a discussion taking place. May I post
the review or article to the list?

words, feel free to do so. Otherwise, please refrain
from posting copyrighted materials to the list. (You
can always cite the article in question so others can
   look it up.)
