The Listserv Home page is:

http://www.lsoft.com/products/listserv.asp

There is a pulldown at "Support" … Select "Manuals"

6.0 should be documented, but there is also a link for "Documentation for Older Versions", that will have manuals as well.

Some things (e.g. shutting down/restarting listserv) will almost certainly require you have sysadmin privs on the box.

This is on the Windows version 16.0. Would the places I need to search for manual entries be different? We’ve ran file searches for any reference to the list’s name and not got any results.
Thank you

Windows or *nix?

If the second, simply delete aliases, the listname.LIST file and the archives, if any (/archives/listname.html, /archives/listname). Restart listserv, and postfix. Done.

Subject: Phantom listserv

We have encountered a problem with a listserv we cannot delete. The web interface shows the listserv and it is still sending out probes. There is no config in the web interface for that listserv and when we try to delete it through the web interface we receive an error “The ---- list could not be deleted. Please check the status of the list and the listserv log files for the cause of the problem and try again.”

The log file shows the following:
6 Nov 2018 16:51:34 To [ANONYMOUS]@LISTSERV.UTA.EDU: There is no ----- list on this server. Try sending a "LIST" command to get (...)
6 Nov 2018 16:51:34 From [ANONYMOUS]@LISTSERV.UTA.EDU: X-LOGCK 5083F2311E3B2A5731 AUTHINFO(xx.xxx.xxx.xxx) ORGINFO(129.107.71.204) WM: (...)
6 Nov 2018 16:51:34 To [ANONYMOUS]@LISTSERV.UTA.EDU: This server does not have any file by the name "---- FILELIST".

Any help or suggestions where else to look would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Kevin Parker
