Will LSMTP work with RAS to get and send messages? Yes, but you need an ISP that will assign you a static IP address and you need to make the proper DNS entries. (If Darwin is hosting your DNS you'd better get that moved ASAP.) This is a fundamental requirement for SMTP to work. A couple of months ago I had a similar problem with my Northpoint DSL connection (at home) going out on 2 days notice. Fortunately I had a fallback 128k ISDN line and a dialup account with a completely different ISP. I have finally gotten a Qwest DSL line and just today I switched back to DSL. (I'm keeping the ISDN however.) A couple of years ago I was running LISTSERV/LSMTP on a 33.6 dialup line (again with static IP). It can be done, if you configure for limited bandwidth.
