My agency currently has implemented several announcement only mailing lists. We are have some problems with individuals replying to the confirmation. I believe it's because those individuals attempting to reply have signatures associated to their emails and this appears to Listserv as extra information in the body. If this hypnosis is correct I'm looking for a resolution and any suggestion would be helpful. If I'm not correct would you be kind enough to set me on the right path. This problem requires me to have to add these individuals manually ... which is a business I would rather not be in. Thank you for any assistance you may offer. Marilyn ----- Message from "L-Soft list server at New York State Department of Taxation and Finance (1.8d)" <[log in to unmask]> on Fri, 26 Oct 2001 14:42:38 -0400 ----- To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Invalid request received from you LISTSERV was unable to process your multipart MIME message because it did not contain any MIME body part in a format that LISTSERV understands. This error can be caused by attempting to send LISTSERV some non-textual data (such as an image or audio file) that it cannot do anything meaningful with, or by an incompatibility between your mail program and LISTSERV. For instance, your mail program may have decided to send your message to LISTSERV in a proprietary word processor format that LISTSERV does not know how to interpret. You can usually circumvent this problem by using the clipboard rather than drag-and-drop to copy the text of your message. ------------------------ Rejected message (49 lines) -------------------------- Return-Path: <[log in to unmask]> Received: from 10.82.11.20 by TAX.STATE.NY.US (SMTPL release 1.0d) with TCP; Fri, 26 Oct 2001 14:42:38 -0400 Received: from pralb02.tax.state.ny.us ([10.82.11.16]) by albmtahub01 (Lotus Domino Release 5.0.6a) with SMTP id 2001102614423800:141746 ; Fri, 26 Oct 2001 14:42:38 -0400 Received: from 204.115.33.41 by pralb02.tax.state.ny.us (InterScan E-Mail VirusWall NT); Fri, 26 Oct 2001 14:42:37 -0400 Received: from imo-m07.mx.aol.com (imo-m07.mx.aol.com [64.12.136.162]) by base.tax.state.ny.us (AIX4.3/UCB 8.8.8/8.8.8) with SMTP id OAA41078 for <[log in to unmask]>; Fri, 26 Oct 2001 14:42:36 -0400 From: [log in to unmask] Received: from [log in to unmask] by imo-m07.mx.aol.com (mail_out_v31_r1.8.) id 6.3d.136e4052 (4313) for <[log in to unmask]>; Fri, 26 Oct 2001 14:42:32 -0400 (EDT) Message-ID: <[log in to unmask]> Date: Fri, 26 Oct 2001 14:42:31 EDT Subject: Re: Command confirmation request (503CA6E7) To: [log in to unmask] MIME-Version: 1.0 X-Mailer: AOL 6.0 for Windows US sub 10540 X-MIMETrack: Itemize by SMTP Server on ALBMTAHUB01/SRV/NYSTAX(Release 5.0.6a |January 17, 2001) at 10/26/2001 02:42:38 PM, Serialize by Router on ALBMTAHUB01/SRV/NYSTAX(Release 5.0.6a |January 17, 2001) at 10/26/2001 02:42:38 PM, Serialize complete at 10/26/2001 02:42:38 PM Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="------------InterScan_NT_MIME_Boundary" --------------InterScan_NT_MIME_Boundary Content-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary="part1_3d.136e4052.290b0897_boundary" --part1_3d.136e4052.290b0897_boundary Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" ok --part1_3d.136e4052.290b0897_boundary Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Type: text/html; charset="US-ASCII"
ok
--part1_3d.136e4052.290b0897_boundary-- --------------InterScan_NT_MIME_B
