The problem is that *-SERVER is a reserved address for LISTSERV. It's one of the various pseudo-mailboxes that LISTSERV routes to different places, eg, owner-listname, listname-request, and so forth. listname-server maps to the LISTSERV@host address associated with listname. So you could call the list CIS-SQLSERVER but not CIS-SQL-SERVER. Nathan On Thu, 1 Nov 2001 17:30:30 -0500 you said: >I created a new list named CIS-SQL-SERVER. When I try to send to the list, >this message appears in Listserv's log file: > 1 Nov 2001 16:53:20 -> Invalid list (CIS-SQL), generating bounce. > 1 Nov 2001 16:53:20 Sent information mail to: > > [log in to unmask] >There is no list named CIS-SQL, but that's not the name of the list I was >sending to. I double-checked everything about the new list (list definition, >sendmail aliases, archives) and can't find anything wrong. The only >occurrences of "sql" in the sendmail aliases file are the entries for the new >list. I've had a lot of experience with Listserv, but this has got me >stumped. Any suggestions? > >Peter
