Does anyone else have this > problem, and is there a solution other than create shorter subject lines? > In a quick test of my Outlook 2000 client I found there was a hard limit of 255 characters that would fit in the field. I sent it to three different online accounts and all 255 characters appeared as it was sent. Also, LISTSERV is highly RFC-compliant so another clue might be found in RFC 822 (which is the relevant one for Subject: headers). Section 3.4.8 suggests that 'long' header fields are: "...commonly interpreted to mean greater than 65 or 72 characters. The former length serves as a limit, when the message is to be viewed on most simple terminals which use simple display software; however, the limit is not imposed by this standard." It looks like shortening the subject is your best choice. -- Chazzozz!!
