LISTSERV is actually a separate program from the Mail Server. LISTSERV prepares the mailings (in BSMTP 'packages') and gives it to the mail server. After that, any retries, etc. are handled by the mail server and are not under LISTSERV's control. Once the mail server has reported a 'bounce' back to LISTSERV (such as above) the message has left the mail server also. LISTSERV will not attempt to resend the original message, but does record the bounce. LISTSERV will attempt to send a new message if one comes along, unless the number of bounces received exceeds the auto-delete limits that have been set, in which case the address will be auto-deleted.
