I've solved my share of "mystery bounce" problems, but this one has me stumped. It appears that a Bitnet note run by L-Soft in Sweden is sending bounces on certain messages. I have searched for ERNA1 and BITNET in my subscription list to no avail. Next I'll query all subscribers in Sweden, I suppose, but...... The oddest thing is that all the bounces so far come from messages posted by that one person -- no other list member's posts are causing these bounces! Following is an example in its entirety: ------------------------- Mystery Message Starts -------------------------- Received: from listserv.iupui.edu (listserv.iupui.edu [134.68.220.184]) by cs.umb.edu (8.8.8/8.8.8) with SMTP id VAA18909 for <[log in to unmask]>; Wed, 29 Jan 2003 21:18:19 -0500 (EST) Date: Wed, 29 Jan 2003 21:18:19 -0500 (EST) From: [log in to unmask] Message-Id: <[log in to unmask]> Received: from in-uits-listsrv (listserv.iupui.edu) by listserv.iupui.edu (LSMTP for Windows NT v1.1b) with SMTP id <[log in to unmask]>; Wed, 29 Jan 2003 21:18:18 -0500 Received: from erna1 (195.2.126.185:4360) by listserv.iupui.edu (LSMTP for Windows NT v1.1b) with SMTP id <[log in to unmask]>; Wed, 29 Jan 2003 21:18:18 -0500 MIME-Version: 1.0 Subject: Undeliverable mail Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="------------104389264709012287900888627044" Content-Length: 1500 Status: This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------104389264709012287900888627044 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Attached is your mail message which could not be delivered, or may have encountered some trouble in the delivery process. mail could not be delivered to all of its recipients --------------104389264709012287900888627044 Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline Received: from listserv.iupui.edu ([134.68.220.184]) by erna1; Thu, 30 Jan 2003 04:10:40 +0200 (EET) Received: from in-uits-listsrv (listserv.iupui.edu) by listserv.iupui.edu (LSMTP for Windows NT v1.1b) with SMTP id <[log in to unmask]>; Wed, 29 Jan 2003 21:18:10 -0500 Date: Wed, 29 Jan 2003 21:17:59 EST Reply-To: PageMaker for Desktop Publishers <[log in to unmask]>, [log in to unmask] Sender: PageMaker for Desktop Publishers <[log in to unmask]> From: Ralph Alcorn <[log in to unmask]> Subject: Re: best way 2 color photo 2 photoshop ltd 2 133 lpi halftone? Re the press gain - I know what it is in theory - paper absorbs ink, so everything looks darker, but don't have any idea of how much of a decrease in contrast is needed to compensate for it. --------------104389264709012287900888627044-- ------------------------- Mystery Message Ends ---------------------------- Any ideas?
