Dear all, I am having a strange behaviour with the Reply-to field of a mailing list I manage. The problem occurs when mail to the list is sent through an aliased domain. The The list is hosted by an isp and managed through the listserv web management interface. The 'actual' list name is [log in to unmask] but a domain listserv.cacheweb.org has a DNS pointer to the same IP address as the whathelps domain. The list Reply-to header is set to Sender, Ignore. The list works as expected when the To: field is [log in to unmask] as below Return-Path: <[log in to unmask]> Received: from lsmtp.whathelps.com ([64.49.220.162]) by ldap.dmc.dit.ie (Netscape Messaging Server 4.15) with ESMTP id HMSYA800.T3X; Wed, 15 Oct 2003 15:15:44 +0100 Received: from server161 (localhost) by lsmtp.whathelps.com (LSMTP for Windows NT v1.1b) with SMTP id <[log in to unmask]>; Wed, 15 Oct 2003 9:18:13 -0500 Received: from LISTS.WHATHELPS.COM by LISTS.WHATHELPS.COM (LISTSERV-TCP/IP release 1.8e) with spool id 381527 for [log in to unmask]; Wed, 15 Oct 2003 09:18:13 -0500 Received: from ldap.dmc.dit.ie by lsmtp.whathelps.com (LSMTP for Windows NT v1.1b) with SMTP id <[log in to unmask]>; Wed, 15 Oct 2003 9:18:12 -0500 Received: from bigfoot.com ([147.252.71.103]) by ldap.dmc.dit.ie (Netscape Messaging Server 4.15) with ESMTP id HMSY9Q00.73N for <[log in to unmask]>; Wed, 15 Oct 2003 15:15:26 +0100 User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.0.2) Gecko/20021120 Netscape/7.01 X-Accept-Language: en-us, en MIME-Version: 1.0 References: <p05200f1aba9cd85e1556@[10.0.3.20]> <[log in to unmask]> <[log in to unmask]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Message-ID: <[log in to unmask]> Date: Wed, 15 Oct 2003 15:13:30 +0100 Reply-To: Eoin Kilfeather <[log in to unmask]> Sender: Cache-All <[log in to unmask]> From: Eoin Kilfeather <[log in to unmask]> Subject: test To: [log in to unmask] Precedence: list !However if the [log in to unmask] address is used the mail is sucessfully distributed but the Reply-to header is not correctly set but rather the lists.whathelps.com domain is transposed into the Sender and Reply-to fields.
