Not that I know of. That feature > is something we here would love to have. I think generic support for an external authentication mechanism might be more useful, but it cannot be limited to the web interface, since some commands and jobs submitted by email also require authentication. I would like to see LDAP support added to LISTSERV, but it should not be done in a manner that limits its use to authentication. It should be done in a manner that makes it possible to eliminate the need for multiple owner, editor, and moderator keywords, and multiple subscriptions, for sites where individual users have multiple email aliases. An LDAP-enabled mail server can be configured to perform LDAP lookups only for addresses in specified domains. This enables it to validate local sender addresses and determine the routing for local recipient addresses, but prevents it from performing lookups on external addresses which are not likely to be in the local LDAP directory. LDAP support in LISTSERV would need to include a similar configuration option, since few sites are likely to have LDAP directory entries for external owners, editors, moderators, and subscribers. -- Paul Russell Senior Systems Administrator OIT Messaging Services Team University of Notre Dame
