Charitytalk and DorothyL win LISTSERV Choice Awards L-Soft's 10th anniversary LISTSERV Choice Awards continue. The Philanthropic List Award has been won by CharityTalk, the "Big Tent" Discussion List of the Nonprofit World, hosted at CharityChannel,([log in to unmask]). The E-mail Community Award has been won by DorothyL, Mystery Literature E-conference, hosted at Kent State University, ([log in to unmask]). Charitytalk is the heart and soul of the CharityChannel, nonprofit- sector professional community. Although the list itself is of relatively modest size (about 700 subscribers), it has spawned more than 200 public and private lists serving an online community of more than 150,000 nonprofit-sector professionals on every continent of the world. This incredible reach contributed to its choice as winner of the Philanthropic List Award as did its positive effect on society. The Email Community Award received the most nominations so far: 74 covering 18 different lists. DorothyL is a discussion list for over 3000 the lovers of the mystery literature genre. It is named in honor of one of the great women mystery writers of the century. Agatha Christie and Josephine Tey were strong contenders, but Dorothy L. Sayers had a LISTSERV-blessed middle initial. DorothyL stood out because of its enthusiasm, high functionality, and devoted subscribers.
