I use the POST_FILTER exit. ... Both suggestions are informative and we appreciate the contributions. However, in keeping with LISTSERV's security model, List Owners (persons listed as Owner= in the List Header) do not have the privileges necessary to install a List Exit. This must be done by someone with Site Administrator privileges on LISTSERV and also with direct R/W access to the server (to install the exit script/program, modify the necessary files, stop/restart LISTSERV, etc.). A List Owner may request such help from the Site Admin, but a List Owner cannot do all this by themselves. Any further discussion of List Exits and the issues surrounding their use should be moved to the list [log in to unmask] for Site Admins. Further answers to the original query on this list (LSTOWN-L) should address methods that only require List Owner privileges. The List Owner (of this list) goes back to read-only mode... :-)
