When reading a discussion where list members reply to each other, most
people think of the "next" message as the message that was written after the
one they are reading, whereas the "previous" message would be the one
written before. This is the case when reading messages in chronological
order, which is the default. But if you have chosen to view messages in
reverse chronological order, the "next" message will be less recent than the
one you are viewing, and vice versa. Before this clarification was added,
people complained that the interface was confusing, that "next" should not
be an older message, etc. If you do not like this, you can change these
messages in the "Layout" configuration screen of the list management centre.
