I've searched the archive, and Ben Parker also gave me this link: http://peach.ease.lsoft.com/scripts/wa.exe?A2=ind0411&L=LSTOWN-L&P=R826&I=-3 We're now running ListServ Classic, at 14.4, so I should be able to do this now. I have a list we use for testing, so I used the web interface to create a listname.mailtpl file, and put this into it: .BB &*TO, if you report this as spam, I'll know about it. .EB (like I said, it's a test list) The web interface took care of putting: >>> BOTTOM_BANNER Appended at the bottom of all non-digest messages at the top of the file. I then added Mail-merge = Yes to my configuration for that list, and finally (based on a glimmer of understanding from the developer's guide), added EMBEDDED_MAIL_MERGE=1 to my go.user file, and restarted listserv. I'm getting this error: -> XMRG FROM:<[log in to unmask]> VERSION=1 502 Error: command not implemented 5 Jan 2006 20:13:56 >>> Error X'00C00FB3' enqueuing mail for delivery <<< 5 Jan 2006 20:13:56 -> Severity: Error 5 Jan 2006 20:13:56 -> Facility: SMTP error code 5 Jan 2006 20:13:56 -> Abstract: Unspecified error (502) - See RFC821 et seq. After you finish laughing at me, could someone tell me what I've omitted, or done wrong? Many thanks. -- David Phillips Molon Labe ! 35° 46' N , 78° 48'W Lose Not A Minute!
