I don't think you can have open lists and avoid spam unless you restrict the service area. We require confirmation for subscriptions and send=private. In a busy list editing would be very tedious I would think. -- Nate Eckstine (DoIT CityWide Webteam) City of Seattle Department of Information Technology 700 Fifth Ave. Suite 2700 Seattle, WA 98124-4709 USA Work (206) 733-9658 Fax (206) 684-0911 >>> Steve Eckard <[log in to unmask]> 10/18/2007 6:15 AM >>> Follow up for viagra emails. I have had numerous calls like below. These students all belonged to a particular open listserv list with replies to sender. I have closed the list for now. Aren't these messages actually coming from the list and maybe appearing to come from the user? List is send= public. I believe we may require in the future that if a public list is requested that it be edited. Any thoughts appreciated. spam is being sent out from user's email account she is receiving emails from other JMU users who have received the messages to remove them from her list this problem has been occurring for multiple people told user to email [log in to unmask] Steve Eckard IT Specialist James Madison University MSC 5735 568-8191
