Well, I found the issue. The archives I got from the previous site must have been on a DOS machine. When I ran dos2unix on all the old archive files the search function started working correctly. Thank you to everyone who gave me suggestions to try. I hope you all remember what happened here so the next time I ask this someone can remind me what I need to do. :-) -- James Morrill office: HL 11, 785-532-4909 www-personal.ksu.edu/~james Obviously, some influential people want to deny that every human life has intrinsic, sacred worth. They insist that a member of the human race must have certain qualities before they accord him or her status as a 'human being.' -- Ronald Reagan > Date: Thu, 31 May 2012 18:48:48 -0500 (CDT) > From: [log in to unmask] > To: [log in to unmask] > Subject: searching list archives > > We set up a new list for a faculty member and when he was convinced it > was going to work he asked if they could move the archives from a previous > (LISTSERV) list to this new one.
