The only other way I would think of to find the email address is to search the SMTP logs for it.

With "imports", such as with the web "bulk" button facility, there is no subscriber add/delete entry in the changelog ... so no changelog entry for your person of interest is not proof of former subscriber status. (sorry for the double negative!).
